Karen’s Paranormal Podcast Episode 1

I’m rewarding myself for getting back to writing again by doing something I’ve been meaning to do for a long time: starting a book review podcast. I review paranormal books (including urban fantasy, PNR, paranormal women’s fiction, and paranormal cozy mysteries). I am somewhat concerned that doing this is going to cut into my writing time, but after 2,000 words on the manuscript or so I am usually DONE for the day anyway, so it probably won’t effect it much.

This episode didn’t turn out exactly how I wanted it, but I decided to move forward with it rather than rerecording– the perfect being the enemy of the good, and all that. I’m more excited to work on episode 2 than trying and failing to make everything perfect.

Here are the books I reviewed in this episode

It Happened One Doomsday: A funny, fast-paced, feel good urban fantasy novel.

Sprinkles and Sea Serpents (The Sugar Shack Mysteries Book 1) (I had already reviewed this one on the blog).

The Glass Mermaid (Magic in Chancellor Book 1)

Not sure about scheduling yet– I’d love to put out episodes weekly, but that may just be too much. For now it’s sporadic until I start teaching again and my schedule tightens up and I have a better idea what kind of time I’m going to have available for the rest of the year.

I hope you enjoy this episode. If you’d like to make any suggestions in the comments, I’m happy to hear them.
